Hello, today I'm sharing a Valentines Card Step by
Step with you. Dies are very popular and
can be used in different ways, I have created this design to show that the negative
die cut – the part usually discarded, can be used to create an interesting
focal point, this is especially effective when added to your card using 3D foam
to create depth.
Step By Step:
I created this design for +Hobbybase Ltd. as a Guest on their Design Team, all products can be found online at http://www.hobbybase.co.uk (product links at end of post)
Take a 6x6 white card blank with fold across the
top. Cut a slightly smaller square of
dark pink pattern ‘Made with Love’ paper and adhere to card front using double
sided tape.
Cut a strip of white card approx. 6cm deep and adhere
heart pattern paper to it using d/s tape around edges and glue across centre.
Carefully position the couple silhouette die into the
centre of the strip, add a little low tack tape to secure, and run through die
cutting machine. (Remove cut outs and
save for another project as we are using the negative space for this card) Add the die cut strip across card front using
3D foam to give height.
Cut a strip of grey pattern paper approx. 2cm deep, score
and fold concertina style (you will need 2 strips - join them together with
glue) Adhere strip across lower card
front using a d/s tape and dabs of glue. Arrange pleats as desired and trim
ends flush with card.
Using black ink, stamp the LOVE letter tile stamp onto
grey heart paper and cut out. Round edges and then adhere across pleated strip
at bottom RH side of card.
To finish, die cut hearts from different ‘Made with love’
papers using the smallest of the Dovecraft heart dies. Glue hearts around couple and along the top
of card.
